A Tillering Gizmo is an indispensable tool used in bow making. You simply place your bow in a tillering tree and run the Tillering Gizmo back and forth along the belly of the limbs. The Tillering Gizmo will mark, with the inserted pencil, where the bow is bending less (flatter areas), relative to other parts of the limb that are bending more. You simply remove wood with sand paper, card scraper or draw knife where there are pencil marks and repeat the process until you achieve the optimal bend in the limbs and your desired draw length and draw weight.

You can fine tune the depth of the pencil by twisting it. This will lengthen or shorten the pencil line the Tillering Gizmo will make.

The Tillering Gizmo measures 150mm x 40mm x 40mm (6 inches x 1 1/2 inches x 1 1/12 inches) and comes with a pencil and adjusting nut.
